Moon Jae-in president celebration of Billboard No. 1 bts
BTS Billboard Singles #1
BTS became the first Korean singer to reach the top of the U.S. Billboard singles chart. In May 2018, after topping the album chart "Billboard 200" for the first time by an Asian singer with his third full-length album "Love Yourself Before Tear," he topped the singles chart "Hot 100" with his new song "Dynamite" two years and three months ago, which is a milestone in K-pop history.
It is the first time in 57 years that an Asian singer has topped "Hot 100" since Japanese singer Kyu Sagamoto's "Skiyaki" in 1963, and in 2010, Far East Movement, an American electronic group composed of Korean, Japanese, Chinese, and Filipino members, also topped the list with "Like A G6." The previous record for a Korean singer was 'Gangnam Style' by Psy, who ranked second for seven weeks in 2012.
